Sport Training Sessions

Sessions are designed around the needs of the team and may focus on:

  • a single phase such as tracking, obedience, or protection

  • a combination of phases in one session

  • troubleshooting specific issues within the sport

  • progression planning for trial preparation

Depending on conditions and goals, some teams may work primarily on one phase for a period of time, while others may rotate through all three.

Tracking Work

Tracking is an important part of IGP and working dog development. Availability for tracking sessions may vary based on weather, field access, and ground conditions, but it remains an important part of training for teams pursuing full sport progression.

Working Dog Experience

Derrike has spent years working within the working-dog community as a helper and trainer, assisting handlers in developing dogs for sport and advanced obedience. His approach focuses on clear communication, proper drive channeling, and building confident working teams. Training is tailored to the individual dog and handler rather than forcing every team into the same formula.
